Cares Teams
Apartment Life is a creative and powerful outreach ministry for apartment communities. These communities are strategic to the church because of the large population of apartment residents (50% in many major cities) and the large concentration of unchurched people. With less than 5% of apartment residents active in a church, apartments are a spiritual black hole - in our own backyard! Apartment Life provides local churches with a proven approach for sustained outreach to apartments in their community.
Apartment Life partners with local churches and the apartment industry to place Christian teams from local congregations into apartment communities. These CARES Teams (married couples or two single adults) receive a free apartment and commit 10 hours per week (each team member) to helping to build community and minister to residents. CARES Teams perform functions that flow naturally out of the Christian life including welcoming new residents, planning social events, and ministering in times of special need.
CARES Teams quickly become the “hub” of community life, and these intentional relationships provide opportunities to share the Gospel and connect residents to church. Apartment industry partners receive business value by reducing resident turnover, attracting new residents, and improving staff job satisfaction.
CARES Teams are the heart of the Apartment Life ministry. These teams live an intentional and accountable Christian life in an apartment community as an outreach extension of a local church.
Spiritual goals for each CARES Team include:
• To build a new spiritual relationship each week
• To share the Gospel once per month
• To connect a resident to a local church once per month
First Euless currently has three teams with a sphere of influence of 3,500 plus people. We have many more complexes immediately around First Baptist Euless that have been waiting for a CARES Team to be placed for a long time, and many more in other areas around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Just this year alone, there have been 7,247 spiritual relationships formed, 916 church connections, 1,045 gospel presentations, and 187 salvations because of CARES Teams!
